About Dawn

Dawn square headshot 2009

I’m the 2nd of 5 children (g-g-g-b-g). Dad is an Assemblies of God pastor; Mom is a stay-at-home pastor’s wife. We moved
every 1-2 years.

My sisters and I sang in a trio. My whole life revolved around church life as a preacher’s kid.

I had my first panic attack when I thought Jesus came back and left me behind at age 8.

I graduated from North Central Bible College (now North Central University) with a Music/Missions degree in 1983.

Lon and I were married in 1986. I put him through Seminary in 1988-1990, then we started our family.

I’ve been a stay-at-home mom since our son was born and home schooled each of our children for most of their education.

I enjoy reading, baking, aerobics, walking, hiking, camping, weight lifting with Lon, and movies (especially period films). I’m not a huge fan of cooking except for learning how to cook healthy.

May favorite books are: everything by Elisabeth Elliot; When God Weeps, by Joni Eareckson-Tada and Steve Estes; A Severe Mercy, by Sheldon Vanauken; and Objects of His Affection, by Scotty Smith; The Sisters of the Quilt series, by Cindy Woodsmall.

(Oh, and the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer)

I love being Lon’s wife and Hans’, Haley’s and Heidi’s mom!

Here are a few of my favorite posts:

  2. Just found your website. I am looking forward to going thru it. Thank you for teaching the truth about tithing. If the subject comes up in a conversation, I speak the truth. It has yet to be received, but all they have to do is read the Bible. Blessings. Elaine
