This Photo Friday we’re sharing a few pictures taken at The North Carolina Arboretum while on our Labor Day weekend getaway to Asheville, North Carolina. These are my first photos experimenting with a zoom lens (55-200) on my Nikon D40.

(If you’re a real photographer and see this post. Please leave any advice you care to offer on using a zoom lens effectively.)

When I visit places like this I’m reminded of what an amazing world we steward–a living garden to cultivate, nurture and guard to the glory of God.

And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed…The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.–Genesis 2:8,15 (ESV)
