This Photo Friday we’re sharing a few pictures from our day trip to Tallulah Gorge State Park, in northeast Georgia. With 1,099 steps down into the gorge in the humidity and rain, we only shot a few good photos that weren’t a foggy, sweaty mess.
But despite the rain, there’s just something about being away from the city to smell the air, see the green, and touch the rough surface of rock and bark that makes the soul sigh contentedly. It reminds you that your busy, hectic life belongs to a big, unerring, unfolding drama that is God’s world. Even when you make mistakes you are in His plan. And thus, your life is invested with God’s eternal purpose. Here you vividly sense that what the psalmist sang is true:
Know that the Lord, he is God!It is he who made us, and we are his;we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.–Psalm 100:3 (ESV)
