Live Oaks with Spanish Moss

[taken with Nikon D40 at the Newell Lodge near Folkston, GA, February, 2013]

For this Photo Friday, I want to revisit the wonderful daddy-daughter trip I took with Heidi to south Georgia in February. These stately live oaks — Georgia’s state tree — stood outside our cabin, hung with moss, and frequented by hundreds of robins. You can imagine the sound we heard in the morning before I stepped out to take this photo.

Here’s a photo gallery from our trip to south Georgia, including the Okeefenokee Swamp, St. Mary’s, and Savannah.
