Fiery Lion

Fiery Lion

Does this evoke any biblical imagery in your imagination? I can’t think of any fiery lions in the Bible, but these images do come to mind:

  • The Seraphim – fiery, angelic beings described in Isaiah 6:2ff.
  • The Fourth Man – whom Nebuchadnezzar saw in the blazing furnace in Daniel 3:24ff.
  • The Glorified Christ – whose eyes appeared to blaze like fire, and whose face shone like the sun in Matthew 17:1ff and Revelation 1:14ff.
  • The Lion of the Tribe of Judah – who alone was worthy to open the seven-sealed scroll of God’s decrees in Revelation 5:5ff.

What biblical images does this call to your imagination?
